Louie & Thomas

Louie and Thomas have become best friends whilst in care and are looking for a quiet home with no young children or other animals, where they can settle in at their own pace. Their backgrounds are very different as are their personalities so combined they really do make a perfect combo :-)

Thomas (Ginger tabby approx 4.5yrs old) came into our care a few months ago after being taken into the vets with a very nasty open wound on his flank which is now fully healed. He is a nervous boy until he feels comfortable and safe, but he is an incredibly gentle, loving and very vocal cat, and his fur is SO soft! Once he’s built that bond with you he does love attention, likes to be close to you and will meow to tell you how he is feeling so you need to be the sort of person who doesn’t mind a chatty cat!

Louie (Black and White approx 5.5yrs old)has a very different background, he was an entire male, straying for at least 18months that we know of, and had learnt to totally fear humans. He had to be trapped to be bought into care and it has literally taken him a few years to find his domesticated paws again but again once he feels safe and secure with you and his environment he will seek you out for a chin rub or a bum scratch, although not to the same extent as Thomas. When he’s in fully relaxed mode though he will lay next to his fosterer on the sofa and have a tummy rub, which at one point we would never have thought possible! We do think it may take Louie a bit longer to settle in and feel comfortable in a new home than Thomas but we are hoping that with his best friend beside him he will get there, and he may even surprise us.

Both are neutered, microchipped and vaccinated and enjoy going outside - so once settled and new bonds have been formed we would like them to have access to a safe garden and surrounding area via a catflap ( both are proficient in using a catflap). Although they are likely to have to be kept in longer than the standard 4 weeks until fully settled and comfortable.

The key thing for the boys is that they will need kind and patient owners who exude warmth and love, and will allow them to settle in at their own pace. We are looking for a few specific things within their new home which we believe will massively help them to settle quickly, which we will openly discuss with any potential adopters to see if between us we can make those things happen. Trust me, you will be rewarded tenfold in the long run for your patience and understanding with this pair as they are both gorgeous boys with so much love to give!!

We do know at some point in the near future they will need dentals which we would support with from a financial perspective if a new home comes along before this has happened, but obviously but we wouldn’t want this to delay them getting into their forever home and settling, so whichever comes first .

If you think they would be the purrfect match then please get in contact by completing our Adoption contact form: https://www.rspca-stourbridgeanddistrict.org.uk/adoption-form
