Molly is our little golden oldie who was found wandering looking extrememly frail and thin and was taken into our vets by a concerned member of the public. Everyone was hopeful when they scanned her and found a microchip but sadly there was no answer from the numbers registered. The vets wrote to the address but again, sadly no reply. We have all had to accept that unfortunately for reasons we will probably never fully know, Molly had lost her home and had clearly found herself wandering with no bed to sleep in and not knowing where her next meal was coming from - such a terribly sad story
None of us know how long Molly had been struggling for before she taken into the vets…but she was very weak and struggling to stand so we think it was definitely more than a few days poor thing.
We know from her chip details that she is at least 14years old and that no elderly cat should have to find themselves homeless so we are on a mission to fix that and find some lovely caring people who are prepared to offer her a quiet forever home.
Since being in the vets and subsequently in our care she has eaten well and slowly but surely she is regaining some strenth and we are seeing small improvements in her coat condition. She is still quite stiff and arthritic in her back legs and we have not seen her make any attempt yet to jump up anywhere so some nice little pet steps up to the sofa in her retirement home might be appreciated ;-)…as would a nice safe and secure little garden to potter around in (with supervision) when the weather warms up…
We have had her fully blood tested and despite everything she has been through all her heart, liver . kidney and thyroid markers came back as within normal range which is great news. She was slightly anaemic which may improve now she is eating better or may just be down to old age but she is due to go in and have that checked again on 26th Jan 19.
Whilst better than being on the streets we feel sorry for Molly being in a pen at her age and would love to find her a warm home to rest her head as soon as possible - could that be with you???
